Residential Parks & Community Living Australia has been created because we believe Australia's residential parks, land lease communities and community living sector deserve an independent national organisation dedicated to supporting stronger communities, informed residents and better outcomes for everyone.

Across our nation, hundreds of thousands of Australians have chosen community living as their home. These communities provide affordability, security, independence and a genuine sense of belonging.

They are an increasingly important part of Australia's housing future and deserve to be recognised, respected and supported.

Yet while the sector has continued to grow, there has never been a truly independent national organisation bringing together residents, committees, operators, governments, regulators, professionals and industry partners with a shared commitment to strengthening community living.

Today, that begins.

Residential Parks & Community Living Australia has been established as an independent charitable not-for-profit organisation with a clear purpose: to build stronger communities through advocacy, education, collaboration, research and good governance.

Our role is not to create conflict where cooperation can achieve more.

Nor are we here simply to react when problems arise.

We believe lasting progress comes from listening before speaking, understanding before judging, and working together to find practical solutions that improve everyday life for people living in residential parks and community communities throughout Australia.

We believe every resident deserves dignity, fairness and respect.

We believe communities are strongest when people are informed, connected and empowered.

We believe good governance builds confidence, transparency builds trust and collaboration creates better outcomes than division ever can.

Those beliefs have become the foundation of RPCLA.

This organisation has been created for today, but it has also been created for the future.

As our membership grows, so too will our ability to provide education, share knowledge, encourage best practice, advocate for positive reform and support communities across Australia. We will work constructively with governments, regulators, operators, service providers and community organisations because meaningful change is achieved when people work together with respect and a common purpose.

I also want to acknowledge the many people who have encouraged this vision from its earliest days. Every conversation with residents, committee members, industry professionals, governments and community leaders reinforced the same message: Australia was ready for an organisation like this.

While I have the privilege of serving as RPCLA's founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, this organisation will ultimately be shaped by its members and by the communities it serves.

Its strength will come from the people who choose to contribute their ideas, experiences and commitment to building something that benefits future generations.

Whether you have joined us as a member, are considering becoming involved, or are simply visiting to learn more, I warmly welcome you.

This is only the beginning.

Together we can create an organisation that informs rather than inflames, collaborates rather than divides, and leaves Australia's residential parks and community living sector stronger than we found it.
